Come honor the Autumn Equinox with us in a cozy cabin tucked beneath the Sierra Buttes. Retreat from daily life with a chance to pause and reflect on your harvest of the year.
The Equinox symbolizes a moment on the calendar of perfect balance between light and dark, making it a powerful time for reflection and pause. We can harness this energy when we create space to reflect on what the brightness and fullness of summer has brought us, as well as setting intentions for how we would like to utilize turning within as the light begins to fade.
In this retreat we will be offering practices that create more calm in the mind and body, so that our reflections can be viewed with more clarity, and the intentions we set can be even more potent. Through creativity, gentle movement, nutrition, and rest, we hope to help our guests reconnect with themselves so they can re-enter their lives back home with a full cup.
In order to create a truly safe and restful space, we've chosen to keep this retreat small. With limited spaces, we recommend to secure your spot early on.
We will be offering daily yoga, beginner-friendly watercolor classes, hiking, nutritionist-prepared meals, river plunges, sound-baths, reiki, starlight and lots of time for rest and reflection.
Why incorporate art as well? We believe that creative practices are just as powerful for calming the nervous system and processing emotions as mindfulness practices. And the two together serve as a powerhouse to connect with the deepest parts of ourselves. The art activities we will offer over the weekend are accessible to all, and are more about the opportunity to experiment and play than expecting specific results. Each participant will leave with a watercolor kit as well as the tools and confidence to continue to explore this medium once you are home.
For this intimate retreat we'll gather as a small group in a rustic cabin walking distance from the Yuba River. Nestled in charming and historic Sierra City, the serenity of this spot will serve as a true respite from the momentum of daily life.
Christina Zelezen is a 200hr certified yoga teacher, certified nutritionist and integrative health coach, as well as a Reiki practitioner. She has been sharing her practices with Plumas County since she moved to the area several years ago. Kiana Bohm is the owner of Heart Root Yoga, a yoga teacher, and a watercolor artist. In the last few years she has begun teaching watercolors to the creatively curious.
We are both passionate about sharing these modalities with those seeking a deeper connection with themselves and the world around them. We've facilitated dozens of small events together and can't wait to bring all of these practices into one special weekend together.
